Installing Your Solar Tracker
- The Linxup Solar Tracker arrives in shipping mode to preserve the battery. Before use, hold down the black button on the side until you see a light. The device is charged by solar power and does not require connection to a power source. Place the device on the top or side of a vehicle or equipment, directly facing the sun as much as possible.
- A fully charged device will report a 3.9-4.0 volt reading. A fully discharged Solar Tracker will stop reporting below ~3.3 volts and go into a deep sleep mode. Under normal operation, the Solar Tracker needs less than one hour of sunlight to maintain a good operational charge. A device in deep sleep mode may take up to 48 hours of sunlight to fully charge from a dead battery.
- You can order an optional charging cable separately if your Solar Tracker will not be mounted directly facing the sun.
- The Solar Tracker and external temperature probe shipped in the same box have already been paired. If you have ordered more than one Temperature Monitoring solution, please make sure you leave the respective Solar Tracker and external temperature probe connected that came in each box.
- To connect an external temperature probe (or the optional charger), align the key slot on the cable to the 3:00 position facing the Solar Tracker device connector.
- Carefully insert the cable into the Solar Tracker connector. The cable should push in about ¼” into the connector. Once the cable is fully pushed in, turn the outer locking ring clockwise about ½ turn.

Solar Tracker Cable (left) and Connector (right)
- To mount the solar tracker, the surface should be clean and rust-free to ensure an adequate hold using the magnets. Be sure to mount the device with as much access to sunlight as possible to maintain an adequate battery charge.
- You can also use #8-32 or #10-24 mounting bolts to mount the Solar Tracker. Be careful not to over-tighten the bolts or the mounting tabs could become damaged. Stainless steel bolts and locking nuts are recommended. Be sure to mount the device with as much access to sunlight as possible to maintain an adequate battery charge.

If no external cable is connected to the device, the connector covering cap should be installed to protect the connector from weather damage.
