                              How to Install AT3 Tracker

                               

                              Installing Your Wired Asset Tracker

                              You have purchased a wired asset tracker device which contains an internal rechargeable battery. This battery may not be fully charged when you first receive it. In order to bring this device online, please either charge the asset tracker device for a minimum of four hours, or wire the device for installation to an appropriate power source.

                              ***IMPORTANT*** - There are two versions of AT3 hardware.  Although they differ slightly in appearance, there is no difference in quality or functionality.  To best identify which version you have, check the device serial number.  The serial number will start with either an XT or a 68W.

                              1. Connect the device according to the equipment power setup as detailed below.

                              For Non-Powered Assets

                              1. If available, obtain the wiring diagram online or from your owner’s manual. Find the constant power wire on your equipment. Strip this wire.
                              2. Strip the asset tracker’s red and white wires, then connect them to the constant power wire from your equipment and crimp. This connection provides power to the device.
                              3. Strip the asset tracker’s black wire and connect it to a grounded source.
                              4. Using screws, zip ties or tape, secure the device to your asset in a spot where there is a direct line of sight to the sky from the top of the device.

                              For Powered Assets

                              (NOTE: this is REQUIRED for Mower Tracker.)

                               

                              1. If available, obtain the wiring diagram online or from your owner’s manual. Find the ignition wire on your asset. Verify the ignition wire by measuring the operating voltage while the key is in the ON or START position (voltage should read 0VDC when OFF, and typically between 11V and 14V when ON). Strip this wire.
                              2. Strip the asset tracker’s red and white wires, then connect the white wire to the ignition source and the red wire to constant power. This connection lets the asset tracker report ignition ON/OFF events as well as engine hours for maintenance.
                              3. Strip the asset tracker’s black wire and connect it to a grounded source.
                              4. Using screws, zip ties or tape, secure the device to your asset in a spot where there is a direct line of sight to the sky from the top of the device.

                               

                               

                              NOTE: Unused wires should be taped out of the way and prevented from making contact with anything metal.

                               

                              1. Confirm the Power Connection
                                • Following installation, allow 5-10 minutes for the Linxup asset tracker to power up and obtain a cellular and GPS fix.
                                • Your asset must be outside and not in a covered area so that it will receive GPS signal. Once you have LED confirmation of power, your installation is complete.

                              For XT models:

                              Asset Tracker LED lights

                               

                              Blue

                              • Off = reboot
                              • Fast blinking = searching for cellular network
                              • Slow blinking = connected to cellular network

                              Green

                              • Solid = searching for GPS
                              • Blinking = GPS locked

                               

                              For 68W models:

                              Red

                              • Flashes on startup
                              • Device is initializing (1-3 minutes)

                              Green

                              • Solid = active
                              • Device is operating normally
                              1. Installation for Most PTO Applications
                                • Locate and connect the unpowered side of the control switch for the equipment being monitored.
                                • Connect the yellow wire to the correct terminal on your automotive relay.
                                • Connect the two remaining terminals on your relay to ground.

                               

                              NOTE: If PTO is going to be used, the AT3 needs to be wired red to constant and white to switched ignition.

                              Not intended for use:

                              • Indoors
                              • Inside of metal casings
                              • Underground
                              • In remote “no cell coverage” areas

                              Performance and results will vary if used in the above environments.
